Update 1-2-2020

You had emailed on 12-19-2019

Hi Bruce,

I have some additional questions. Please respond to the following.

- What did you mean when you said I had a calendar choice if the website indicates to view the vrbo calendar?

- How will my clients pay for a booking?

- When I gave you my rates, I didn’t realize you would copy and paste it exactly as I had written it. I figured you were entering the rates into a table of some sort. We will need to revisit this if there are no other options for listing the rates.

- Port Aransas is misspelled.

- Will you be using the property description and “about us” from VRBO?

- Will you be listing more than three reviews?

I responded right back with answers to those questions.

- What did you mean when you said I had a calendar choice if the website indicates to view the vrbo calendar?

Just remember, that your website is still only a draft so the calendar, just like everything else, is just temporary at this point.

- How will my clients pay for a booking?

How clients pay is completely up to you. You will provide instructions on what you require up front as far as a deposit and initial portion of the rent, what forms of payment you accept, when final balance us due, along with any cancellation policy. How do you prefer to be paid? We can set it up where the guest can provide their credit card info on your website or you can send them an invoice for the initial deposit and rent and then another before balance is due. If you currently have a credit card processor then they can also provide you with a widget that we can install on your website for accepting credit cards

- Port Aransas is misspelled

Sorry about that but all spelling and grammar is reviewed and corrected before your website would go live.

- Will you be using the property description and “about us” from VRBO?

That’s up to you. I initially use the “Property description” and “about us” from VRBO but we can change it if you choose.

- Will you be listing more than three reviews?

I wouldn’t suggest anymore that 3 reviews on the Home page but below the Home page reviews we can add a link to a page with all of your other reviews.

Great questions! Let me know if need clarification on anything,

I then followed up with another email as I had forgot to answer your question regarding copy and pasting of rates,

- When I gave you my rates, I didn’t realize you would copy and paste it exactly as I had written it. I figured you were entering the rates into a table of some sort. We will need to revisit this if there are no other options for listing the rates.

Rates displayed as just text actually look better on mobile devices but it’s no problem having a rates table if that is what you prefer. The table will look small on a mobile device but that can be remedied by having some verbiage above the rates table saying, “For best view rotate your phone”. I can show it to you both ways and you can decide.

So I also added a rates table on your website so that you could see how both look and decide.

Here is what I still need going forward:

1. Calendar choice

2. Domain name – You already have mayanprincess205.com. When it comes time to go live I will need your login info for your domain hosting account so I can login adjust your DNS so your domain points to your website

3. Rates – Did you want to go with the rate chart or just the rates listed in regular text

4. Any specific changes you would like to make to your site such as anything you might like to had or remove.

5. Booking instructions, as far as how much of a deposit, forms of payment accepted, when balance is due and cancellation policy.

Website Calendar Scenarios

1. Using VRBO or other listing service as your master calendar.

If you’re using VRBO or another listing service as your master booking calendar then you might want to simply refer them to that listing for rates and availability but you would definitely want to includes a message explaining that they will pay a service fee if they book with the listing service but if they book directly with you then they can avoid this fee. Here is an example of what I am talking about (See example below)

2. No Calendar or Rates on your Website

Another option is to have no calendar or rates on your website, just a Booking Request form as in the example below.

Many property owners prefer to call the guest and provide them with this information and to learn more about who will be staying at their property. If the dates they requested are booked, and you have more than one property, then this gives you the opportunity to direct them to one of your other properties.

You can choose to have an Inquiry form as in the example below on each of your property pages or you can just have a single form with a drop down list showing each of your properties.
3. Have your own calendar

Have your own calendar and you can view several calendar options at Calendar Options.

Once the calendar is installed you can enter reservations directly into your calendar and it will automatically update on your website.

As part of your package there is no charge for adding the Google calendar which is fully Ical compatible meaning that you can update your VRBO calendar with a reservation and it will automatically update your Google calendar on your website. You will need to contact VRBO and get the Ical link for each property so that it can be set up to sync with your Google calendar.

You don't have to link to another listing service calendar and you can choose to enter resevations directly

You can email this information to support@vpodirect.com or text to (850) 450-2507. The sooner you get me this information the sooner I can complete your initial website draft. Also, for design ideas, if you have any website examples that you would like for me to see then please forward those to me along with a brief comment on what you like about the design and what features you would like to have incorporated into your website design. If you don’t really have any ideas, don’t worry, I will send you an initial website draft and we can go from there. Once you have approved on the overall layout then it’s just a matter of plugging in all you content.
  2. You need to decide on a domain name (yourproperty.com). Provide me with a few ideas that you like and I will research and see what’s available.
  3. You will receive an initial website draft first but payment for the agreed upon price of your website is due before we can actually begin your project. If you are not comfortable with making payment in full then just let me know and we can agree to an initial deposit with the balance due five days later . You will receive a PayPal invoice via email but you do not have to have a PayPal account and you are given the option to pay with any major credit or debit card. We don't accept checks. You can also go to CTS Payments and pay for your project.
  4. Feel free to call me anytime, but during the process of working on your project, and to avoid phone tag and further delays, I prefer to correspond via email. I will email you updates on a regular basis but even if your busy just send me back a quick email to let me know you got the update and when you will be able to provide whatever it is I requested in the email regarding your project. If I don’t hear from you within 24 hours, then I will email or text you again.
